Business Cards and the future of value

At Bridge DFS (www.bridgeto.us), our key to success is looking at a situation from the customer’s point-of-view. We follow the Human Centered Design approach based on the Ideo methodology to hunt for value. In the consumer financial services domain.

Last evening, I was sorting out a bunch of business cards and it was obvious that not one of them was recent. Probably the last card that I collected was in February 2020. But my networking has multiplied since then. I meet far more relevant people online and conduct business without ever having to meet them face-to-face.

The value has shifted and it’s not going back. I would not invest in a business cards company any more. Look at the US stock markets to see how quickly value shifts. For example, the once exalted Exxon is no longer a part of the Dow Jones Index. Change is swift and sudden. It happens when it’s least expected.

It makes me wonder about all those companies that are in cards. Business cards, I mean.
